    Vin # location

    I recently bought a 58 vette which has a new vin # issued by the state - the car was stolen many years ago and the vin plate was removed. My question is - is the vin stamped anywhere else on the car?

      Of course! Pry the body off the frame under the driver's door with wooden wedges. Run Scotchbrite over the top of the frame rail. Cover with white shoe polish. Wipe the polish off and read with mirror and flashlight. QED!
