If you're referring to the vents under the rear window (above the storage compartment doors), solid plates for a/c equipped cars.

        Ronnie,

Here's a pic of the ones from my '68 A/C convertible. I just removed them yesterday.

        Good luck,

        Anthony

AC cars are blocked off to keep the "cold" air inside the car when running the car.

Non-AC cars have movable flaps that open with the VENT knobs at the front of the center console to allow fresh air to flow through the car.

I should have clarified my photo a little more. These vents are not sealed, they actually open towards the back of the car.

There was a gasket around the outer edge, but the slots were free to move & came out as 4 individual pieces (what was left of them).

As you can see from this photo, there are only retainers on the top, allowing the bottoms to move to the rear.

                My car is a '68 convertible with A/C built January 24, 1968.

Hope this helps, but it will probably cause more confusion,

                Anthony
