    C1 57 2x4

There is an article in a nostalgia magazine about "Dad's Red Corvette" I have attached the link. What's interesting is that the family still has the original invoice showing the "8 Barrel Carb and High Lift Camm" along with power top and outside mirror (2).

In the web version, the invoice is hard to read, but it is clear in the magazine. The VIN is 100444.

That was great to see the sales sheet which now proves what I've told people for years that the right side mirror was a dealer accessory from GM for the Corvette!!!!! Most people always said NO WAY! I also have a dealer sales sheet on the 67 BB hood problem , but now that I sold it I don't wont to hear from any one again about that> See time does catch up with our Corvette.

I just realized if you click on the invoice, it expands so it can be read. I apologize if I'm the last one to figure this out.

        Rich,

        Great article! Thanks.

I notice that although the car didn't sell new until end of May '57, it was built in October of '56 per the SE#. I am surprised how long it went unsold. I wonder if that was representative of the sales that year.

            Re: What is

dealers often offered to "porcelanize" new cars back then. i have a 50 olds that still retains the water soluble decal afixed to the vent wind wing that states the car was procelanized when new. mike

              Rich -

Just click on the invoice and it will pop up full-page.
