I've heard more than a couple of folks tell my that the jets in the center carb in my '68 435HP are sized a bit small to run leaner for emissions purposes. Is this true? What about the secondaries? If they are a bit small, can I change them? I would think that it would help the car run a little cooler, and maybe gain a little HP too. My engine is also bored .030 over which may make it run even leaner and hotter now. I've rebuilt several QJs but never a Holley.
Any suggestions on where to get larger jets and what size to get?
the center carb # 4055-1 M/T pri jet #63 carb# 4056-1 A/T pri jet #61. the end carbs #3659 have no replaceable jets, they use a drilled plate. the plate should be # -3 and the hole size should be .055. i would not go more than 1 or 2 steps richer on the center carb and if you drill out the end carb plates and it does not work you will have to buy new plates.
If memory serves me your primary jets are #63 and if your engine is in stock configuration, ( your overbore alone should not be sufficient to create a lean burn condition ), and in proper tune it will run fine with the #63 jets.
The secondaries have no removable jets, just the drilled metering plate.
my question is,what did clinton do with the cigar after monica was done with it. (A) smoke it, (B) offer it to trent lott on his next visit to the oral office.
