54 Corvette water pump

I am putting together a 54 vette 235 engine. Correct block but I do not have the corvette water pump. I tried a stock 54 chevey water pump and it will bolt to the block but original fan and pully won't attach to complete the set up. The 54 Chevy pump has the pulley attached while the setup I have for the Corvette has a seperate pully and fan.
Is there a way to use the Chevy pump while I try to locate a correct Corvette water pump?
Any ideas on locating a correct pump?

I don't know if a regular Chevy pump will work. I believe the 54's had a hood clearance problem with a regular pump, so Chevrolet designed a special pump that would fit the 6 cyl. Corvettes.

Pumps and base units pop up on ebay every now and then. Maybe one a month. Expensive. A nice pump sold for $382 a few weeks ago.

Jays1953vette has a pump and base unit listed now. The price for the pump seems okay, (assuming the quality is there). I don't know about the price on the base unit. I posted a link to the ebay page below.

You could also try Grossmueller's.

The 53-4 235 Corvette water pump and pump backing/mounting plate are unique to the Corvette for these years. Don't know of any way to use a Chevy pump.

Try Grossmueller, Stoudt or Mary Jo Rohner. Also, from time to time they show up on eBay too. Don't expect to get them cheap though. Good luck
