Installing a C1 Fresh Air Hose Clamp

Has anyone recently installed a new fresh air hose clamp from Corvette Central? How do you prepare the long strap so it will catch?

    Joe,
It's difficult to describe verbally, but if the CC clamp is like the original..... then the loose end of the strap goes UNDER the screwed-in end, through the slot and INSIDE the closed loop. The loose end is therefore UNDER the loop. Make the loop as close as you can to 4". Sometimes you may have to totally remove the clamp so you can make the loose end of the clamp looser or tighter, manually, in order to take up the slack or make it bigger.

Another way of saying this is, this hose clamp is kind of "inside-out". It doesn't have a "floppy" end on it as most clamps do. The end is tightened down under the clamp.

Now....what I've said here makes perfect sense to me! .....It may NOT to you!

Let me know if it doesn't and I will try to draw a picture of this not-very-usual clamp.

    Good Luck!
    Brad
