Hello All:
I have been collecting and researching examples of original C2 firewall harness ties, and I have encountered two different versions that I believe are both original. My guess is that GM had two suppliers for these, but I would like to get some feedback from other members of this board.
The photo attached to this post shows the front side of the two versions. One type has the letter "P" followed by a number that varies, which is presumably a mold number or something. The other type has an "Rx" logo with a number that varies, again presumably a mold number.
The following URL takes you to a photo of the back side of these same wire ties. The P-type tie on the left has smooth ears on the back, while the Rx-type on the right have two circular indentations.
I note that both the P-type and the Rx-type are somewhat softer than the reproduction ties, although the P-type seem to be the softest. My questions are as follows:
1) Are both of these styles correct for C2s?
2) Is there any evidence that one of these styles was used in "early" C2s and the other in "late" C2s? My car is a 67, so I would like to use the correct versions if in fact it makes a difference.
Thanks in advance for any insight you can provide.
