              i have an example of the tin and rag i got at a flea market years ago. suspect it dates to the 50's. trying to thinkl of a place to mount it on my copper 55 when i finish it up, not to be outdone by the bubbletopped roy. mikie

                  I have a later version of this item around here somewhere, but I can't find it right now. Mine dates from the early 70's and was supplied in the cardboard/metal box with the pull-string top.

                  I can't find the release date for the one you have pictured. However, it was discontinued from SERVICE without supercession in October, 1966.
