    J-56 Brake Brackets Numbers

On the J-56 Heavy Duty Brake support brackets, are the part numbers cast into the brackets or raised on the brackets? The brackets I have are numbers 3948879 and 3948880 with a double diamond and an 8 by the number. Is the 8 a date code? What does the double diamond denote? Thanks! Roger Allgood

#879/#880 are the later brackets the ones with raised numbers are the early ones, the double diamond is probably a foundry mark.......HN

While these are probably original? beware that there are repro brackets also.
