    C2 66-67 Grille Question

I need some help in painting my '66 grille. Mine is an original that as far as I can detect has never been repainted. In preping it for painting, I noticed that on the horizontal bars, the surface area (facing up) is chromed and the lower area of each bar (facing down) is frosted with the satin silver paint. Is this typical? I can see after taping off the chrome surfaces on the grille that the General would do something like that to save some time but I'd like to get your opinions.....

    Thanks....

    Re: C2 66-67 Grille Question

This is a correctly painted grille for a 67. I used Krylon dull aluminum paint for the project. I taped the chrome areas and painted it from the rear. Any overspray was removed with a "Q" tip and solvent.

        Re: C2 66-67 Grille Question

Well the jury is out. I painted it this afternoona nd won't take the tape off for a day or so just to make sure it's nice and dry. I'll let the result speak for itself. I posted this question on a couple of forums and got a wide response in answers. My conclusion to all of this is that as long as it's even and close to color, no one will ever know or see the difference when it's mounted in the car. But we'll see. Stay tuned and you be the judge.

Just took the tape off and it came out pretty good. I still need to go over it a little closser but need to make sure it's really dry.
