Heater Box Rivets

Hi;

Can anyone recommend a source for heater box rivets?? I'm looking to rebuild the heater from my 1965 but before I start taking it all apart, I want to make sure that I can source the rivets necessary to put it back together again!!

Corvette Central has gasket kits, which include the rivets. P/N 452020 or 452219.

Joel,
If memory serves me correctly, I did not use the rivets from the Dr. Rebuild kit because they were aluminum and the original rivets on my '65 heater box were steel.

I purchased steel rivets (p/n TSC0908) from Hanson Rivet & Supply Co. in Los Angeles, CA. I also purchased their hand rivet clincher (p/n HT-175).

Both items will set you back about $40 with shipping and handling. This may seem like alot to spend for 100 rivets and a rivet setter; but without it, you will never get the rivets to look like the ones that you will be drilling out.

Also be careful not to enlarge the holes in the fiberglass when you drill out the old rivets.
