    65 396 in the Family

We are very pleased to announce that we purchased a 65 396 Convertible. Thanks very much to all of you who were so patient in offering advice and technical information. We picked it up last night and it is now resting comfortably in our garage.

Special thanks to Wayne Midkiff, Olgeezer and Chris Hewitt for there timely feedback. Ed Wodniakowski who took the time to thoroughly inspect and confirm the originality of the car. Finally, Tom Hincz who not only spent time with me on the phone also invited us to his home to view an incredible collection of restored vehicles including two Duntov award winners and a Bowtie Survivor 65 396. To top it off he and his wife Christine treated us to a great meal and sent us on our way to continue the quest.

This organization is truly top notch.

    Hi Chris & Joan:

I am jealous, very jealous. A wonderful car and THE single car I covet most.

    Best of Luck.

Chris, welcome to a very select club indeed. Not only is the 396 the first big block, but it's a solid lifter, high compression one to boot.

Mine at 6500 rpm through the side pipes brings a tear to my eye. That plus the exhaust fumes of CAM2 110 race fuel. God I love that smell.

I never felt this way driving my old C5.

Can do. Although being a first time owner I'll wait for a nice sunny, but not too hot , day.
