C3 Fender "Stingray" Differences

I have been seeing a wide assortment of "Stingray" Fender Logos for sale. Some advertise 1968-1972, and others give the years 1968-1976. Is there a difference in this fender Logo throughout the years? If so, how can you tell which is correct?

All the ones advertised for 68 are wrong because 68 did not have any and it is not a Sting Ray nor a Stingray.

There was an "evolution" of the "Stingray" fender emblem used for 1969-76 Corvettes (and, possibly, very early 1977 Corvettes, as well). I won't go into all the different nuances of configuration difference as the emblem "evolved" in both PRODUCTION and SERVICE. However, the current SERVICE version of the emblem, which has been available for many years, is discernably different from the originals in several ways.

Generally, you can tell a PRODUCTION or early SERVICE version of the emblem from later by the number and size of the locating pins on the rear of the emblem. Originals had 4 equal length pins. Later, had 3 pins and, sometimes, a 4th shorter pin. However, there are other differences, too. Some of the later (74-76) emblems have the 4 pins but otherwise differ in minor ways from those used 69-73.
