C2 Oil Pan gasket OS34510-T One Piece...

Hmmmmm...check it out. My 1965 327ci service replacement pan with the OS34510-T one piece felpro. Seems the gasket is "bi"...allows for dip stick on either side.

So...hack it off or is there another one piece solution with the wider front gasket?

This service oil pan has the 2 3/8 front radius compared to the original 2 1/4 which calls for the OS34509-T one piece felpro gasket.

    Thanks

      Jim,
Thats an odd OS34510-T gasket. I just did mine this past winter and it did not look like that. Only had one hole for the dip stick.

I used the one piece gasket and needed the thicker front on my 66. It was the #1885. One dipstick notch on the driver's side. Works fine with no leaks.

          Jim-----

Unfortunately, the Fel-Pro OS34510T gasket is a "one-size-fits-all" sort of piece---designed to fit both left and right side dipsticks. I HATE this sort of thing. However, it is functional, as-is. I would not remove the external portion of the gasket designed for the right hand dipstick pans. However, I don't think that it will hurt much if you did. There is no functionality, whatsoever, to this "appendage" and it won't serve to "strengthen" the gasket once the pan is installed and bolted down.

To get away from this sort of thing, I think that you'll need to go to another manufacturer; I don't think that Fel-Pro makes a one piece gasket for your application without the "dual dipstick" feature. However, I believe that Victor and Corteco (formerly Detroit Gasket) do make a left hand only dipstick, one piece oil pan gasket set for your application.

Folks with pans with the 55-74 front seal radius don't have to worry about this. There were no through-the-block right hand dipsticks for these year model engines. So, the Fel-Pro OS34509T gasket only has the left hand dipstick provisions.

The Victor-manufactured one piece gasket is, I believe, their part #OS 30568RLH. This is the one for the "thick" front seal applications. I believe that this one has only the left side dipstick provisions. However, it may have changed to the "one-size-fits-all" by now. The Fel-Pro #1885 that Dan mentioned vaguely "rings a bell" for me now. Unless it's also changed to the "one-size-fits-all", too, it might be what you're looking for.

THANKS Joe et al....I will try the alt vendors.... I wonder how long the 10T has been "bi"? Maybe there is some old stock about...... there is always a fly in the ointment.

                1880 or 1885?

Dan...which is correct for the wider front seal? Several poster mentioned 1885 but it shows in my SDPC cat as the narrow front seal..... ....?????

                  Re: 1880 or 1885?

You could be right. I originally bought the one with the thinner front seal only to find out that I needed the one that uses the thicker seal. Since my dealer stocks both, it was just a matter of exchanging it. So, it could be the 1880 that I used. Either way, it fit perfectly and sealed with no leaks. Sorry for the confusion.

Blue, just like in the previous picture.
