    Rear License Lamp removal

I would like to remove my rear license lamp assembly and replace it with a new one. However I have encountered a problem. The three screws that hold the lamp assembly in place on the rear valenace have nuts and washers that I cannot get to because they are up inside the valance. What is the secret to getting the lamp assembly out without removing the rear bumpers and valance? The shop manual tells you to simply remove the screws, nuts and washers and the ground wire, but that is easier said than done. I despartely need some help on this one. TIA Len

Per your profile you own a C2 midyear. To access these nuts and washers you need to remove the spare tire tub. You don't need to remove the bumpers or valance.

Steve: Thanks for the speedy response. As you noted , I neglected to mention what year my Vett is, which is a '63 SWC. I sort of suspected removing the spare tire tub might be the best alternative for the removal. I will go that root. Thqnks again Steve. Len
