I have two motors, one is stamped 5045156 on the housing with a large C and smaller 3 - 59, and the other is 5045171 with a D2 - 60. The numbers are not located in similar locations. The 5045171 unit has a grounding pin riveted on the housing, the other does not. What do I have? Should 1960 motors be round or could one of these be a 1960 application if the 3 - 59 is a date stamp?

Re: C1 or C2 Power Window Motors
Roy, that was my thought, however Mike Ernst in his '(Early) Power Windows' article indicates 61 - 62 were of the square type. I definitely have two of a kind due to the difference in grounding pin and stamp location. Some restorer's have said use the 'square' motot because it is stronger and no one can see it anyhow. It is a quandry we put ourselves in, how far to go . . .- Top

Re: C1 or C2 Power Window Motors
David! Well ether one will work and you don't see it, looks like I was correct ! The Chevy use the round type also . May be because the 61-62 doors were different. Like so many things if it's not in the JM many don't care or know.- Top
