69 tach face

my tach face on my 69 needed replacement- I ordered one from Corvette Central and when it arrived it had a green shade on the numbers, my old face has the numbers so faded I couldn't tell if they had a green tint or not. Is the repos colored this green tint, or is this correct. My speedo is fine IT has white colored numbers. Anyone know what's up??

White legends on gauges (speedo, tach, center cluster) started in 1972. Prior to that the legends were green...

If you have white numerals on the speedo, it has been replaced. Green went from the first day of '68 until the last day of '71 production.

The complete speedometer with the correct face is available in reproduction. However, I don't know if the face, alone, is available.

When I replaced my 70's speedometer about 1974 the new unit I puchased form GM had the white numerals. I went ahead and installed it and kept the green numbered original. A few years ago I switched out the faces and installed the green numbers. The speedometer needle comes off easy, I just twisted slowly counter-clock-wise while gently lifting up on the needle. Remove two screws and changed the pieces.
