    c-1 windshield resto

New guy here again, In planning for my new dash pad, I decided to restore the windshield since it was off the car anyway and was in need of new rubber. The tabs were both in tact on the post which was a good omen so I took careful photos and even drew some diagrams on how things fit before I took the windshield apart. Here is my problem: When installing the lower frame over the new rubber with the revel molding, it does not go on. It goes over the rubber fine without the molding piece, but not with it. Am I doing something wrong?? Is there a trick or another way I am missing?? In fact, on my first attempt, I was not paying attention and put the entire windshield back together thinking the molding would just "snap" between the rubber and lower frame and quickly figured out I goofed. So I took it all apart, cleaned all the putty and sealer and started over. I now have the upper frame on and for the life of me, I cannot put on the lower frame with the molding snapped over it. Thanks in advance for any pointers.

    Tim -

ST-12 indicates that you assemble lower frame and trim assembly and figure 8, page Body 1 - 5 looks like the trim must go in before the rubber. I have my windshield laid out on the bench and have be chicken to launch into the project. It looks like the trim snaps over the lower channel fairly easily. Be patient, sounds like you have been though!
