Today was my first time that i tried to order from long island corvette ,and i must say that i have never dealt with a more rude person than this before ,i was very polite and ask for there discription of a few items ,and i felt like i was being scolded for something i didnt do , i would not order anything from these people if they were half the price of the competition, this kind of thing can shure put a damper on the way we feel about our hobby, how can this be good for L.I.C when you have p,r like this.

Re: L.I.C. Rudeness
I have heard this same story about dealing with a live person at LIC. Recently I placed two orders by fax just so I wouldn't have to talk to anyone. All orders were shipped and delivered in a matter of days. They seem to have everything in stock. They seem to do a good job as long as you don't call them. Odd way to do business?- Top

Re: L.I.C. Rudeness
I also had a bad experience the only time I did business with them, when I first started to resore my 63 SWC.
I had them rivet the ball joints on the orig. front suspension on my 63.
When I received them back, they looked terrible, the rivies were not done good at all.
When I called them about the poor job, I spoke with the owner, he treated me so bad over the phone, that I remember it to this day,(4) years later). He would not stand behind the bad job...
Needless to say, I have not purchased one thing from him and never will.
Paragon and others will get my business...

Re: L.I.C. Rudeness
I have dealt with them for many years. I order on Friday mornig everytime, they ship the same day and have never backordered anything. Most of my orders are 50 to 100 different items at a time. Other vendors backorder, charge my card when they please, charge me freight on the backorders and spread the orders out two weeks to a month. I can`t operate that way. I fax and also call in but have all my numbers ready and correct and never return anything. I may feel the same way as you if this happens to me. The other vendors I refer to is not "Doc". I do buy from him and get great service. Mike- Top

Re: L.I.C. ..... FAX
Like everyone else I have a .. L.I.C. story. However, I have learned to FAX ALL orders . It saves me time and aggravation.
I like the business end of LIC. VERY fast delivery and orders have ALWAYS been complete. They have a very good selection of hardware and hard to find parts.- Top

Re: L.I.C. ..... FAX
I have ordered from them several times and have had great success each time. The key to LIC is to know they don't chit chat, they don't help decide which parts you need, and they like you to have your order ready when you call. I always know what I need when I call, give them the order and it is on my doorstep the next day. Great in stock inventory, great shipping, but a little weak on bedside manner.Tom Hendricks

Re: L.I.C. ..... FAX
I've been buying from them for years and just used them a couple of weeks ago. I did my homework and had my numbers ready. Called the order in; they took my numbers, my charge card and said good bye. I had the parts in three days. What's wrong with that????Frank

Re: L.I.C. ..... FAX
There are some items that LIC has that are much better than other suppliers. I've never had a problem on the phone, but I haven't called them in years.
All I do is build a spreadsheet with the part description, part number, my cc info and FAX it. I have my package in 2 or 3 days. Works for me.

Re: L.I.C. ..... FAX
It is always hard to know when you deal with only one side of the argument, but for the most part I agree with you.
Now some are busy, and they learned long ago that a 1 minute question on whether this part is what I really want can turn into 5 or 10 minutes quickly, and that can be at the expense of other customers who are trying to order. So they establish a hard and fast rule of no chit chat.
This is especially true on their toll free lines.
I have found that if you ever start with a question, you have a worse time. If you already have a few hundred dollars on the order, then a quick question on a final part is more likely to be answered.
If you can live with the FAX orders, good. If not, vote on the bad bedside manners and go elsewhere. In the long run, it doesn't hurt them any, only you. But you will feel better for sticking to your principles.- Top
