Is 1962 VIN #00001 still out there ?

Monday's post about 1965 VIN #00001 jogged my memory on the first 1962 (#00001) -- see 4th down on left row of pic below.

Terry Michalis (then TMCS) had it for sale for over a year back in the 1976/77 timeframe. It was a black car, and I understand that it suffered fire damage sometime after it was sold.

Anyone know if this car is still around ? The LAST 1962 (= the last C1) is alive and well, as we all know from the Barrett Jackson speech.

If it is, would 1962 and 1965 be the only two early "C" years where the start and end of model-year production are still alive ?

P.S. No drooling over those prices.

About six years ago I bought a 1966 corvette from a guy south of Seattle Washington, He had a black 62 I thought a 340HP that was vin #1, I dont recall his name, he and his brother raced a super stock camaro in division 6 .....Thanks JOHN

At the time, those prices weren't so great. About 10-20% high on most of them.

We all slept on those cars. In the TMCS ad a '67 400 A/C for $8k. That very same car traded not long ago for $150k + and it was in better shape when it was sold for $8k. I will buy all the tankers for under $10k that you can bring me
