67 POP evaluation

I'm considering a purchase of a 67 L71 which the owner (dealer) says has the POP. He knows nothing about the car and just wants to flip it. I'm concerned that the POP might be a repro and wonder if anyone out there knows how to tell them apart. Thanks for your help.

I cannot speak to every reproduction POP but a quick give away for many (most or all?) is the zero character. I do not have a pic handy, but the verticle portions have a little "tab" jutting out from the side. The reproductions I have seen do not duplicate this. Mr. Grenning would be a good one to talk to. He probably knows all the ins and outs with the POP, much like with trim tags, the originals have some characterstic features, althoug I seem to recall the actual addressograph machine that stamped POP in St. Louis is still around today.
