C2 Kick Panel

I'm changing out my original black interior to red and I have a question regarding the kick panels, in particular, the windlace.

I noticed on my original black kickpanel windlace the inner foam/rubber is black. However, on the new red ones that I just got, the foam is white.

Question is, does the color of the windlace foam change dependent on the color of the kickpanel carpet and windlace or should it always be black?

Can anyone with original carpeting, other than black, please take a look at this windlace foam and let me know what the color is. You should be able to see it at the top rear of the piece as it bends around the kick panel.
