I need to remove my '58 wiper arms to get at the escutcheons and have unscrewed the nut that holds it tightly in place, but I'm not sure what to do next. I didn't want to just start pulling the arm if there was more to it. Thanks in advance. Steve

There is not anything to it , it must be stuck on the shaft , try using something to push on the wiper edge area to lift it up

Just be careful how you do it. Make sure you pry the just the arm off. If you are not careful you could pull the center out of the transmission.(Don't ask as I did it on my `62 a few years ago.- Top

Re: Or you could use one of these....
agree with jerry. with the tool, removal is safe and quick. snap-on has them if you don't want to get it from long island. or you can make the tool using a 3/16" thick piece of strap metal. bend a three 90 degree angls in the strap using jerry's photo as template. mike- Top
