I finally got around to start correcting the ill-fitting top trim/headlight ring match points. I was able to free the fender trim inner mounting strip to allow movement fore and aft (it formally was 1/4" too far forward). But the rear of the headlight rim trim piece points too high off the car. I am not sure what the headling rim is constructed of (cast aluminum?) but can it be finessed a bit so that I can push that small riveted piece of trim down a bit to better match the height of the top trim?
Thanks for any tips or words of warning about pushing my luck. I'll have plenty of time to work on it this weekend as I am snowed in here in NJ. What a depressing situation weather wise.
