but............what do I know! I have a very high NCRS#.:0 I do beleive you're correct in that "springs" don't wear out. Any spring weakness has to be due to loss of material caused by corrision. It has been my experience that springs only break they don't just soften up. As to your advice on restoring vs. replacement I couldn't agree more. You can't (Yes, you probably can) imagine how many parts I have discarded over the years as junk, that I wish I still had. Once the are gone their gone. Keeps these scavengers in business and I for one am happy to pay them for something I was stupid enough to throw away. Always look forward to your wisdom. Ken
