    Re: Obsessing....

Thanks for all this displayed information. Although I'm far from an engine expert, all these data will be helpful when in the unknown future my base engine will be in need of refurbishing. I will use the main "concepts".

Re: Cam intensity, overlap, ICA issues in selectio

Jim sounds like your getting alot of good advice from more knowledgable people than myself, my offering was only something that i know works i had a 327 461 heads 151 L79 cam that pulled very hard from idle to 6000rpm and ran on 92-93 octane without problems ,the gmL79 cam has a pretty smooth idle and great tourqe. the lt1 cam was made for what compression i dont know as the comp changed from 70-71-72,im not sure how this same cam worked with three diff comp ratios plus it is a soggy cam on the bottom end ,not sure if thats what your after ,also i dont forsee any problem using the gm 327 300 hp cam several friends of mine run this cam in there midyears without problems ,i think you will have better luck always going the oem way . good luck ,happy motoring.
