    C2 hardtop weatherstrip sealer

I'm restoring a hardtop for my '67 and ordered new weatherstrip, etc. I asked the hardtop restoration shop what kind of adhesive and sealer they use, and they said 'none'! Not even at the header. I specifically asked if they meant no weatherstrip adhesive, but they said no adhesive or sealer. They said if the hardtop surface is clean, nothing is needed and that it won't leak. Now, they know more than I do, but is this possible? My top had LOTS of sealer.

Took my 63 top apart and found no sealer. There was only caulking between the stainless and the fiberglass.

Thanks, Harry. I guess they're right. I was hoping they were so I didn't have to mess with the sloppy stuff.
