    Re: L88 questions

I am wondering if the IT engines were white or yellow in '69. I believe that the '68's were yellow.

      Re: L88 questions

I think there is enough question to warrant further study. I hesitate to belabor the point, however, there is nothing I've seen conclusive. The picture Joe speaks of would be absolute proof, but, the picture is not available right now. I've heard others that saw an original car with the white/red, but, they don't know where the car went. Others have said look at mine and it turned out to be reproduction.

Patrick, Dickie, Joe, et al, what do you think of Steve Bramati's label? It is on a low mile Benchmark car. Anybody want to give an opinion?

      Regards,

Hard to say looking at a picture, but with the history of his car it could very well be original

It's hard to say from that one picture, but I'll say that the font looks different than I've seen on previous original stickers.

Steve, you're welcome to send me more pictures. Let me know if you need my e-mail address.

            Jeff,

Yes, a picture even of a possible repro is useful.
In my picture collection I can spot a repro relatively quickly. Hopefully I also get to see it in June in person!

                Re: L88 questions

Patrick, I tried to take some more photos but the lighting in my garage is not the greatest and it is still too cold where I live to pull the car out. When the weather breaks I will get some more pictures of the label. I have spoken to the previous owners back to 1988 and they said the label was there when they had the car so if it is a repro it is at least 20yrs old. If you are ever in the Chicago area, drop me a line, you are welcome to see the car in person.
                Regards,
                Steve

My opinion is that Steve's label is an original label.

                    Steve,

The weather here across the Lake in Holland isn't any different. My cars are still in storage too.
