I finally pull the guage cluster and removed the non-working clock. On the bak i find:
Borg Instrument Delvan Wis with black stamped number - 3668. Is this the original or aftermarket? Need to replace for all the operational point during judging a decidiing whether to have ir repaired, if or original or purchase a replacement.
Nope, no edit function. Just post again as a response to your original post and add "Correction" to the subject title. This software has an edit function, but for whatever reason it hasn't been enabled.
The clock in my '68 reads the same as yours and it is stamped with a 3457 in black ink. Since my car is built in late January 1968, I assume it is a Julian date code: 345th day of 1967. This would be consistent with much of my dated parts.
Assuming that your car is a Jan-Feb built '69, and if 1968 was a leap year, it would be my guess that your clock was built by the Borg co. (GM clock supplier) on the last day of 1968.
I don't think that the date is a judged item, only that the face colors and standard movement are correct.
I had mine restored by Roger @ Corvette Instruments. He put on a new face & it looks perfect.
Erv:
I agree with Anthony about the date and about having Roger fix the clock. I just got back a clock for my '69 from him with a new Borg movement. I understand that the supply of these original movements is dwindling so I would get it done sooner than later.
