What is painted on a type 1 jack? Is it all gloss black or are some parts natural such as the sealed ball bearing or the acme thread shaft?

Re: c-2 type 1 jack PAINT
My understanding of the jacj assembly process is that they were dipped when painted. My type 1 jack is totally black with no signs of paint on the bearing. There is some paint on the screw bar, but not on the threads themselves. Hex nuts on both ends are black as well. Roll pin on the bearing end of the screw shaft has no paint on it either. If you need some good photos of a type 1, I have some and will be glad to email them to you.Tom Hendricks

Re: c-2 type 1 jack PAINT
Hi Tom,
Would also like a photo of Type I Jack - send to akdselectman@hotmail.com
How long is the screw. Was just about to install mine and notice it was a Type III. I still had the Type I (correct for my car)however its missing the long screw and it appears Type I is longer (13") than the Type III (12").
Thanks for your post on the natural color of the roll pin.
