motor mounts for 71 - painted or natural?

Should the motor mounts that bolt to block for a 71 small block be painted (black) or have natural finish?

Also what about the mount under the 4spd transmission (not the bracket part but the mount which has part rubber and part metal)?

No paint. Both mounts should be in "as supplied" condition, or natural steel and rubber. In either case, very little steel is showing; it's mostly black rubber that's visible.

Thanks, thought that is how they were supposed to be, but wanted to make sure before I install. I think mine have more metal exposed (i.e some rubber gone) than when they were new.
