64 coupe dash color

Guys, trying to get the original dash vinyl, to it original red color. the dash is not cracked it faded. I have tried red shoe polish, not much help, what do you recommend. Thank you, Terry

Terry, I purchased red paint/dye for my '64 from Al Knoch.

I agree with Charlie, I dyed my original dash, side panels, door panels and console 26 year ago with the spray paint/dye and it still looks great. Send me your email address and I'll send you pictures of my 1964 red interior.

You should spend some time removing the shoe polish before trying anything. I don't think any of the paint/stains will stick to it.

I agree with Bob, if you don't get all the shoe polish off, the spray dye will "fish-eye" on you when you spray it on, ask me how I know. This is why I said in my email to you to get the parts you plan to dye surgically clean of all oil, silicone, Armor-All, etc. before spraying the parts.
