What's the differences between a 58-60 radiator core support and the 61-62 version?

Re: C1 Radiator Core Supports
Chris,
The most obvoius difference is in the top of the radiator support. Early cars had a support bar that went straight across, but all cars equipped with aluminum radaitors had a support bar that jogged to the front of the car a little to clear the thicker radiator. The support used on 60 top-tank radiators did not have the mounting for the top clamp that held the radiator in, but 61-62 cars were drilled for this clamp. All hoods used after early 60 had a different configuration of the "shelf" at the front of the hood to clear the jog in the support bar, and all 61 and 62 hoods also had a "notch" in the shelf to clear the top support clamp. There are many other subtle differences, but these differences will allow you to spot the correct year radiator support at a glance.
