C -1 Intake Manifold Gasket Sealer

My engine builder says I do not need any RTV sealer around the water passages on my 283/245, what is the opinion of this board? Thanks in advance, Jimmy

I never use any. If the surfaces are true, than it should not be necessary.

I don't use it around the water passages but throw away those manifold end seals and use RTV instead.

Don't throw the end seals away if you're going to show it.

Good point. If you're not going to have it judged - throw them away.
