    67 Horns

Have finished replacing my core support, radiator etc. In the process I had to pull the horns and the horn relay off the core support. I did not pull any of the wiring off the horn relay but just moved it aside. I did pull the connectors off the horns. I have remounted the relay and wired up (but not mounted the horns) to test and when I press on the horn button I just get clicking sounds from the horn relay. They were working before I started. I am not too knowledgeable electrically. Any ideas? Any good sources for info? My 67 service manual doesn't seem to have much info other than the wiring diagram. Would the horns not work if they were wired up on the wrong sides?

    Thanks for any help!

I believe that the horns ground through horn mount. If you have not installed them and fastened them down (or otherwise provided for a ground), they probably won't work. If you do have them grounded or if they don't work after you have them grounded, you'll have to do some electrical troubleshooting with VOM meter to determine at what point in the circuit that the current path to the horn is being interrupted. This is quite a simple checking process, but you do need to understand the basics of it before performing electrical troubleshooting.

I would suggest mounting the horn to establish a ground connection. You can test the horn itself directly at the battery by placing a wire jumper on the stab terminal and touching the horn bracket to the other terminal. Good luck

Thanks Joe and John! I mounted the horns and they work just fine.
