    67 Gas Lid Door Resto

Looking for advise on how to restore the original gas lid door on my 67. The paint shop says mask and paint, however the emblem is quite worn. Drilling out the rivets would help with the disassembly, but the OE looks of the rivets would be gone. Has anyone had success with restoring one of these while preserving an original door? Thanks as always. Jake

Joe, after you remove the rivets you'll find that the 67 emblem is pressed in ,not an emblem that you can remove and reinstall, like your nose piece. I just bought the lid assy. and am having painted the body color as I'm nearing my restoration. In my case Goodwood Green. Don't waste your time trying to repaint the logo emblem, get a new assy.and have them mask it off and paint. Also the cover or emblem piece is aluminum or light weight metal that's why it was pressed in.It is not a removable logo.grr#33570
