    63 seats

I am getting ready to redo my orig seats, using Al Knoch's covers and buns.
The repro buns apear to be the same for 63 and 64, but the back rest cushions should be more curved shaped on top, since the 63 seat back has a curved top, and the 64 has a more squared top. I therefore will have to contour the top of the back rest foam to suit, like the original.
How do you contour the foam ? Is there a tool available, with an el. heating wire to cut the foam ? I seam to have seen this done before in a video, but did not pay to much attention then. Or do I have to use the old scissors ?...

    Re: 63 seats

I had my 63 seats recovered by Al Knock at Carslisle 2 years ago. I didn't watch him during the process but I doubt he altered the seat backs. Why don't you try emailing him I'm sure he could help you out?

If you have to cut the foam use an electric carving knife like you might use to carve a turkey or a fine tooth hacksaw blade. Maybe someone can post 63 and 64 seat photos??

I just send Al an E-mail. The catalog lists the seat buns as 63 thru 78.(I did specify that my car is a 63). I will find out if I have the correct buns...

            Rainer,

I think Al Knoch has a lot of pride in his product. If he sent you the wrong item, he will send you the right one.

I ordered a convertible top DVD from him and they sent me the wrong year. When I notified them of the mistake, the right DVD was in the mail no questions asked.

Sure seems like there would be differences between 63 to 78.
