I just purchased a restored carburetor for my 69 390 hp coupe. The carb is very nicely restored, but I am questioning the numbers. They are correct for my car, but are smaller than the numbers I have on my 70 350 hp car. They are also stamped in one continuos line, instead of having the date code below the other numbers. Is this the way they were stamped in 69, or did I pay alot of money for a fake? Thanks, Mark

Re: C-3 rochester carb numbers
Mark:
I can't speak to the correctness of the stampings since there are no pictures but many early '69 carbs were dated on the side of ther throttle plate using a Julian date ass opposed to being dated on the float bowl with the part number. My early '69 is such a case. Look along the edge of the that part (that's the bottom of the 3 sections) and see if thre is any writing. Of course it could be that during a previous rebuild, the throttle plate of a differen carb was attached which would be very common on mass rebuilt carbs.
