Looking for good, bad or indifferent comments on D&M Corvette Restoration in Downers Grove, IL Any comments appreciated for the C1 restorations they've done.

Steve - I started dealing with the D&M folks when I moved to Downers Grove from Houston in 1984. I think in fact that is right around the time Dave opened. My experiences have always been good. Not having has a C1, I can't speak of first hand restoration experience, but if I remember correctly D&M did an early C1 for GM or somebody for one of those anniversary road shows. I have heard very good things about them from LOCAL guys.....but I've heard some horror stories from guys who aren't from the area that send their cars to them for restoration. I DO know that the general consensus from everybody is that they are expensive....they all are, but D&M is rumored to be even more so. I've been in their showroom, and their prices for the cars they have are almost as if they're an offshoot of ProTeam. Harmony Corvette in Harmony, Ill. is who I would reccommend to restore a car. Robin , the owner, knows his stuff, and they're on a smaller scale than D&M. They've got a website.....I think it's just HarmonyCorvette.comComment

I would rec Todd Spain (Twinoaks) in Elwood Iowa (3 hrs from Chi) or Gary (Rocoe Resto) in Roscoe Il. (Twinoaks 563-678-2706 Bosselman 815-389-9500) I am in chi area....Comment
