Can somebody shed some light on an aluminum radiator made by 'Griffin' (or 'Griffen'). I don't have any specs on it, but the radiator was installed by the former owner in my'74 BB. Thanks....Mel

Re: Aluminum Radiator
Mel------
Griffin is a radiator manufacturer of very good repute and they have been in the business of making radiators for quite some time. They specialize in aluminum radiators for racing and hi-performance applications. The configuration of their radiators is considerably different than the original GM radiators so you'll never fool a judge with one. But, from the standpoint of cooling efficiency, quality, and overall functionality, they are outstanding radiators. And, they're very "pretty", too.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

Re: Aluminum Radiator
To add to what Joe has said, Griffin does make a very nice radiator that will cool your car well. They compare quite well to the repro unit made by DeWitt, at least as far as cooling efficiency is concerned. Here is a DeWitt web site showing the relative cooling effectiveness of the three aluminum radiator manufacturers as well as a brass/copper unit. If it you don't care about the "correctness" of the Griffin, then rest assured that you have a very capable radiator.
