i'm getting ready to plate the wiper motor cover on my 69. the cover has a dated part number lable that is in pristine condition. has anyone tried to plate leaving this lable on? it's a plastic/mylar looking lable, i think the plating would look ok, but i'm not sure if the solution would ruin it. i'd sure like to keep this original lable.

The plating solution will destroy the label. If it's going to be saved, you'll need to find some way to remove it before plating. Most, if not all, removal methods are going to compromise the integrity of the label.In Appreciation of John Hinckley -
