Nice looking car..if the rev counter says 179,000 + revs..that would not match the quoted miles. 179,000 revs would be more like 45,000 miles.

The mileage does seems low given the tach numbers.

I have 75,000 miles on my 54 with 227,600 on the tach. Don't know for certain if both are original but I beleive the mileage is.

        Yours sounds correct..

My 15,082 mile 54 shows 042820 on the rev counter.

It has been my understanding that the rev counter should be about 2.8 times the mileage.

I like the way he claims

there are less than 100 '53s left in existence (though he does say he was told that). c1registry.com currently has 129 53 models listed, and I doubt very much this is all of the existing cars. More likely, he just made it up figuring the car is over 50 years old.

Special interest cars can go like that- Tucker only made 51 cars, but at least 47 of them still exist.

Tucker made more than 51 bodies! Plus extra engines etc..

                No doubt

there was plenty of stuff left over, when he was sweating out those 51 cars. I learned about Tucker literally at my Grandad's knee, My Grandad was a mechanic then, and anyone who was into cars knew the Tucker was exiting and innovative (if a bit expensive) and that Tucker had been screwed by the auto companies, through their political connections, because they feared that even if Tucker failed, his upgrades and safety features would cost them a lot of money to compete with. The film "Tucker" was almost word-for-word what he told me back in the 50's.

                  Project Vera

There is an unfinished Tucker Convertible said to be an off the books Tucker project called project Vera named after Preston's wife. It has body #57.
