    Judging Question

Do you have to belong to a chapter to have your car judged by them?
The chapter I belong to can't judge my car and I am wondering if I can have it judged at another chapter provided it isn't on the other side of the world.
Or do I have to join another chapter to have it judged by that chapter?
Spent a lot of money and time and would like to get it judged before I start driving it and enjoying it and it is no longer "judgable".
    Thank you,
    Kurt

Kurt -No. I'm sure any Chapter, whatever side of the world it's on, would/should be glad to have you at their Meet. Pete

        Kurt,
You can register your car for flight judging at any chapter flight judging event. The Northeast Chapter has a flight judging event on April 22.
Check the contact page for info on contacting them. You know how to contact me, call if you need any assistance.

Request a copy of the judging sheets for you car from Roy Sinor or your chapter judging chairman and do it your self.

              Bill,

We often use a car during judging classes and use judging sheets. We try to go through the whole process. The sheets are then given to the owner.

Ask your chapter judging chairman if he would consider the idea for a judging class.

                Re: Judging Question

Do not confuse a chapter judging school with an official NCRS event, any resultant score sheet from a judging school or other training exercise is unofficial and will not be recognized by NCRS. The only way to have your car judged is by registering and paticipating at an official NCRS chapter, regional or national event.

There are no restrictions that I am aware of which require you to belong to the chapter actually hosting the event.

                  Re: Judging Question

As I read the rules, you only have to be a member of NCRS, the national organization, to have a car judged at any meet.

Chapter membership is optional, but if you have an active chapter near you, you will get a lot of additional benefit. Any meet sponsoring chapter will be happy to judge your car because the entry fee for judging is revenue directly to the chapter.

                    Kurt,

Your car will aways be "judgable". I restored my car in 1982, have driven it quite a bit to and from several NCRS events and it has always scored a Top Flight. By driving you Corvette to a judging meet you are awarded points which is about 1 point per 100 miles driven that is added to your final score. That's the nice thing about this organization, you are rewarded for driving the car to an event, which is what they are made for.

                    Regards,

                    James West

You're welcome at any Mason Dixon meet, Kurt.

One caveat..... Chapter meets by nature are small. Chapter's can only "handle" a certain number of cars, so getting your registration in EARLY is a MUST.

We had our Spring MD meet last Sunday. 15 cars. 3 Solid Axle, 8 midyears (4 BB, 4 SB), 3 Sharks, and one C4.

That number is about what we can handle. We don't want any more cars. We can't handle any more cars.

I heard from our Judging Chairman that we turned away about 10 midyears. Not sure how many solids, sharks and C4's we had to turn away. We go by postmark. First come, first served.

                        Re: Judging Question

I just learned that lesson Chuck.
My chapter is having a judging meet in May and 2 days after the registrations went out I was told that I could attend but would not be judged as there was not enough room and others had preference since they were getting ready for the Nationals. I had gone and repurchased several items (oil filter, headlights, distributor cap, coil, mirrors, atc etc) in anticipation of being judged and was that same day ordering a smog setup for $1600 when I learned I wouldn't be judged so now the Heck with it. I give up.
I will just drive it. Expensive lesson.

Kurt, I don't believe you said where you were from. Our Pittsburgh-Tri State Chapter would certainly judge your car at our upcoming judged meet on June 10th. See the latest Driveline for info. Indoor judging also. Register ASAP as space is limited.
Also June 2008 our chapter is hosting a Regional Meet at Seven Springs Ski Resort in PA. GO to a chapter meet first though and then bring you car to a regional. Don't do like I did though. My first show was a regional. Don't practice what I preach. Did well with the car though for the first time out. Do you homework first and it's a breeze. Yea rite. John D.

                              Dear Members,

In order to provide members with better flight judging we will limit the number of cars to be judged at the May 5 Judging Meet.
Six (6) cars will be be the limit, this will give those owners a chance to have more experienced judges judge their cars. Members who are interested in judging but are not chosen to judge are encouraged to sign up for "Observer Judge" duties. All members who register for this event will be assign a judging position.
Owners who want their car flight judged at our chapter meet as a prerequisite for judging at the 2007 National will be given 1st priority.
The registration forms will be sent via e-mail by mid March.
