I've have people asking me how to tell a real original hub cap from a repro because many repro's are now being made. Many judges know how when installed but if your buying one from a swap meet and don't know or remember what you were told just look on the inside side area to see the numbers ( made B.L.C.-U PAI.PENDING ) those are original! Hope this helps?

Re: 56 up hub caps"TERRY"
Your correct or did you cheat because you can see the valve hole in the pic. HE! HE! But I feel some people don't care , repro's are taking over the market because there so pretty and clean! I'm just a original nut and wont real parts like many other guys do!- Top

After looking at the picture again I see the hole but I have to admit I can't tell the difference installed. If it's not in my hand I'm lost.- Top

No.....I've got a '78 though. How do you tell the difference between reproduction and original when installed? I massaged and polished alot of hubcaps before I discovered the stamping.- Top

Thats what I've always read but I can't see it. My '78 Pace Car has 35 miles on it. I know it should have been driven but know it's fun to look at.- Top
