As an update from my post of a couple weeks ago. I finally found a match for my black speaker grill. I ran accross some black lacquer in of all places a hobby shop that carried the electric and gas powered race cars. The name is Outlaw Black made by Testor's. I cut the paint 50% with lacquer thinner and applied with my air brush. It matched the dash color perfectly. I also touched up a couple of small scratch's in the dash and it blended in so close that unless you know where to look you can't tell it's been fixed.

Re: speaker grill paint
Rainer:
I personally was not happy with the sheen of either the Krylon or the SEMS trim black. I took the Dupont No. to a paint store and found out it would cost me around $180 for some laquer to match. Last resort was a friend who was a ex body shop owner who now own's a hobby shop hence finding the the black mentioned above. I should also mention I primed the grill with self etching primer first.- Top

Re: speaker grill paint
Thanks, Mike. I will look for the paint...
I agree with you about the Krylon and Sems. Both are almost flat. I use the Sems Trim black for the engine compartment. I use Blitz black for gloss applications, such as FI filter unit, engine shroud, wheels ouside, etc.
Hopefully, the "Testor Outlaw" black is somewhat in between.
There have been many threads about the various paints and their respective application, but for the "semi-gloss" aplications Krylon and Sems are just too flat for me.
Will see...
