    C-1 1959 Lower Radiator Hose

What is the purpose of the spring or wire coil in the botton radiator hose and what area of the hose should it be in? Thanks, Jimmy

Keeps it from possibly collasping. Should be between end of water pump and end of radiator, especially the bend.

50's-60's hose material needed the spring to prevent collapse at highway rpm; today's hoses (including most repros) are much stronger and don't require the spring.
