    My last Trivia

    Original FI filter #854395 have date 57 cast in like on original fuel filter which will also have it's date cast in.
    55 early to mid shows 6 banger engine mounting holes later 55 none.GM just used up 54 frames till they were gone.
    Corvette Carb base is thinner then a Car to get clearance for the air cleaner, I've hear people say thier's rubbed on the hood.

      Roy, Since this is your "last" trivia I want to point out that I have seen a few early 57 FI filter tops with 56 cast on them. Enjoy your retirement. John

        Roy, GRRRREAT information. Keep 'em coming. Notice the FI lid has 6 ticks on the cast date. Always thought those indicated calendar months? Do you know for sure what the ticks/slash marks around the circle meant? Appreciate you sharing your knowledge with us. Regards, Gary....

                Joe, That's sure a pristine example of a 56 dated filter top. You don't see very many of those for sure. Especially in that condition. Thanks, John

                  The outside top of the lid looks like a typical aged engine part with normal road grime..but the underside looks perfect.
