i need to replace the resistor on the outside of my wiper motor. it's mounted on standoffs on the connector. it's a wire wound around a core about the size of a match stick. i haven't found it in any catalogs, anybody know what type of resistor this is or where i can buy one?

To the best of my knowledge those resistors were never available separate from the wiper pump assembly. I think the only chance you will have to get another one is to get another pump assembly from a swap meet or used parts vendor and remove the needed resistor from it.Terry -

If you're talking about the wire-wound resistor that is part of the terminal board assembly, that part was never available separately but was available as part of the terminal board assembly. Originally, this piece was GM #4916862. It later became GM #22048289 and later yet became "discontinued". You will need to obtain one off of a "donor" motor assembly.In Appreciation of John HinckleyComment
