Does anyone know which frame stencil is correct for a 1957 Corvette with a vin number in the mid 5500's and a build date of late July. I have two. One is 6-28-57 303190-42 or 6-28-57 303190-43. Thanks very much for your help.
Bob
Bob, my frame stencil is 2-11-57 303190-42 for an early 300X VIN. Quanta sent a -41 in their frame kit and had to call for the correct one. Hope this helps. Regards, Gary....
Bob,maybe someone with more knowledge such as Dr. Mike will chime in here with more info. There were four (40, 42, 42 and 43) suffixes used on the 303190 frame for 1957. Maybe one can assume each suffix was applied during each production quarter, I don't know for sure. Since your '57 VIN is 5XXX, I think the -43 would be the proper suffix for your frame in my humble opinio. Good luck, Gary....
