    c-1 rpo brake shoes

anyone help me identifying these nos sintered metallic brake shoes? they have stamped #'s and ink stamped #'s. stamped steel #'s are 5461965 and 54603?8. rivit going thru the ? makes for difficulty in identifying the # but is suspect its either and 8 or 9 where the ? marks are in above stampings. the ink stampings are 5460382 and 5460381. one set is 2" wide with riveted pucks and the other set is 1 3/4" wide , aslo with riveted pucks. thanks guys. mike

Mike, I have a set of those brakes! I was told they were 63-4 J56 Metallic Brake shoes. They fit into the same size drum as the base brake shoes. No cooling fins but different surface finish. Not to be confused with the big Z06 pieces!! There were about 5000 63's built with those brakes!

BUT! I could be all wrong about this!

Original and GMPD service C2 J-65 friction material segments are "bonded", which I think means "welded" to the shoe, so if these are riveted...

Lucas electics by Dr. Lucas, the Prince of Darkness. The way you tell if a British car has oil in it? If it quits leaking you need to add oil

Dickie, know why Brits drink warm beer? Because Lucas made the fridges.

You know why they still make British cars? So the world can get even with Doctors and Lawyers
